A LITTLE BACKGROUND

ABOUT FINTECH WEEK LONDON

TOGETHER IS ALWAYS BETTER
ALWAYS STRONGER

London has one of the most extraordinary fintech ecosystems in the world. Fintech Fringe is reviving an event that reflects that, one that brings the whole community together rather than pulling it in different directions.

Collaborate not compete is not just a phrase for us. It is how we operate. We work alongside companies from across the industry, including those who are in the same space – it’s actually how I got to know Raf De Kimpe who was the prevous CEO of Fintech Week London. We had a shared belief that the ecosystem grows faster when it grows together.

Fintech Week London is the natural home for that vision. There is a real opportunity here to unite the community around something bigger than any one company or conference. I did not take the decision to step into this lightly, but I took it because I believe we can build something London will be proud of.

Together is better. That is what this week is about. I look forward to great collaborations and partnerships ahead to make this a huge success.

A Year-Round Ecosystem

We are not just a conference. From monthly events, our community platform Fintech Fringe Forum to our consulting arm Scale & Grow , we are active year-round.

Collaborate Not Compete

We work alongside companies from across the industry, including those in competing spaces, because we believe the ecosystem grows faster when it grows together.

London HQ, Global Focus

London is the fintech capital of the world. Fintech Fringe is its ecosystem, connecting founders, operators, investors and decision makers across the UK and beyond.

HISTORY

fintech week london: WHERE IT BEGAN

Fintech Week London was founded in 2020 after its founders noticed a gap. London’s fintech industry was booming, yet there was no flagship event truly built to serve it.

The first edition launched in 2021 as a hybrid conference, reconnecting a community that had spent over a year meeting only on screens. The response was immediate. 180 speakers. 450+ in-person attendees across four London venues. More than 1,000 joining online. 32 hours of livestreamed content spanning AI, blockchain, sustainable banking, digital identity and cybersecurity.

"It was such a vibrant event despite the challenges. It really represented the best of our community and what we have missed the most."

By 2022, fully in-person and firing on all cylinders, it had grown into a two-day flagship conference drawing 900+ senior decision makers from leading fintechs, banks, investment firms, regulatory bodies and global media. Physical attendance grew 300%. Sponsors grew 270%. Web traffic doubled.

Enter fintech Fringe

In June 2023, Fintech Fringe launched at London Tech Week with a simple but ambitious idea: build the UK’s go-to ecosystem for scaling fintechs.

It quickly earned a reputation as an “accelerator on steroids,” known for delivering practical, no-nonsense content with energy and flair. Within two years it had been invited to programme stages at Fintech Connect, Pay360 and Money20/20, consistently drawing standing-room-only crowds.

Today, Fintech Fringe runs a year-round programme of high-impact events and hosts Fintech Fringe Forum, a digital gateway into UK fintech connecting founders, operators and ecosystem players with the resources and relationships they need to grow. 2025 brought the addition of: Scale & Grow, a consultancy for Series A+ fintechs.

Two Communities, One Vision

From 2024, Fintech Week London and Fintech Fringe built a close working partnership, two organisations with aligned values and a shared belief that the UK fintech community deserved better than fragmented, siloed events.

In 2025, they announced a merger. Raf De Kimpe, CEO of Fintech Week London, reflected on what brought them together:

"Fintech Week London has always been about celebrating the UK's fintech ecosystem. Joining forces with Fintech Fringe allows us to continue that mission in a way that reduces fragmentation and builds momentum."

Fintech Week London subsequently closed. Fintech Fringe absorbed the community, the relationships and the mission and kept building.

"Collaboration has always been at the heart of how we operate. Joining our communities under the Fintech Fringe brand was a natural next step."

The next chapter

With the community united and the ecosystem stronger than ever, reviving Fintech Week London under Fintech Fringe’s stewardship was a natural decision. The name has heritage. The community never went away. And Fintech Fringe has the programme, the relationships and the track record to do it justice.

What to Expect in 2026

Fintech Week London returns as an annual week-long series of events celebrating London’s fintech industry, anchored by a two-day flagship conference bringing together 900+ senior decision makers from across the ecosystem.

The spirit of the original. The energy of what Fintech Fringe has built. A community that has been waiting for this.

London’s fintech week is back!
